Friday Feature | Big Spring Farm, Lexington, Virginia

I have been inspired so much lately by the classes I have been taking and the willingness of other professionals to share their knowledge! I mentioned before that I had just completed a 30 day course with Jasmine Star and currently I am participating in a Six Week Blogging Challenge through Showiteer.com. Becoming a better blogger is something that I really want to do and what a better way to learn than working with professionals like Katelyn James, Natalie Franke, Mary Marantz, Abby Grace, Carrie Swails and Amy and Jordan Demos. WOW! That's quite a lineup folks!

To be held accountable to this team is quite intimidating, but very inspiring! This week's challenge is to "write a blog featuring a vendor, venue or local business". I can't believe I haven't done this before now. Sometimes you just need a kick in the pants to remember all the things you should be doing. That's why I love this challenge! Not only am I going to write the blog post, I am going to start a new segment on the blog called "Friday Feature". Every Friday I will feature a vendor, an app or software I love, guest bloggers, etc. I hope you will look forward to this new segment on Fridays starting now.

This week's "Friday Feature" is Big Spring Farm in Lexington, Virginia. I have had the pleasure of shooting at Big Spring Farm on two occasions and I will be shooting another wedding there in October. Just a side note....my neice is getting married there next June and The Herrintons will be shooting her wedding. This venue is gorgeous and it doesn't hurt that it only about 20 minutes away from where I am located. The following is taken from the Big Spring Website: "Big Spring Farm exudes rustic elegance, boasting a restored post and beam barn, a completely renovated 1840's farm house, rolling pastoral and mountain views, and a private 10-acre lake formed by one of Virginia's largest natural springs." It is just that and so much more. Everytime I get to shoot there, I find a new favorite spot! Buddy and Jill are amazing and such a joy to work with. In addition to running a wedding venue, Jill (Jillian Michelle Photogaphy) is an awesome photographer! Go take a look at the Big Spring Farm website and enjoy some of the shots below that I have taken at this fabulous venue!

P.S. I just realized I featured alot of awesome vendors in this post! Yay for me!!
