First, let me add a disclaimer. I was not the professional photographer for Brooke's wedding. The pictures that I post are ones that were snapped by me and Becky and in future posts by Grant Rettig, Grant Rettig Photography. The professional photographers for Brookie's wedding were The Herrintons from Richmond. If you missed their blog post, you can see it HERE. Thank you Tyler and Ashley!
One of the things Becky is really good at is spoiling girls. Becky and Brooke treated Brooke's bridesmaids like the princesses they are on Friday and Saturday before the wedding. Brooke, Sarah, Amber, Erin, Grace, Aly, Lauren, Hayley, Elizabeth, Kylie, and Anna enjoyed a full day on Friday of manis and pedis, lunch at Just Kay's cabin, wedding rehearsal, and then back to Just Kay's cabin to spend the night before the wedding on Saturday! Brooke R. and Molly, two of Brookie's close friends, joined them at the cabin on Friday evening.
On Saturday, the girls got up early and headed to Big Spring Farm where Brooke and Ben would get married. The girls, Becky, and I gathered in the house at Big Spring Farm at 9 a.m. to have a wonderful brunch including, Mickey Mouse waffles, The Grey Stuff on brownie bites, chocolate covered strawberries, chicken salad, mini cheese balls, mini muffins, and cheese and crackers all prepared by Becky, and quiche prepared by Carrie. We enjoyed mimosas in gold rimmed, monogrammed glasses Brookie gifted each of the girls. In addition to the glasses, Brookie showered the girls with gifts.... a beautiful pink robe, a Kate Spade bracelet, pearl earrings to wear for the wedding and a personalized hanger, handmade by Becky and Brookie. She also had gifts for Becky, a beautiful pearl necklace to wear at the wedding, and for me, the gorgeous pink Kate Spade necklace and earrings that I was wearing at the wedding.
Becky gave Brookie such special gifts...something old, a garter made from the lace on Becky's wedding dress when she married her dad, something new...... a pearl necklace and earrings, something blue....a handkerchief monogrammed in blue which had lace and pearls from Becky's wedding dress. The something borrowed came from Brookie's sorority sisters, Sarah, Aly, and Elizabeth, who were also three of Brooke's bridesmaids. Brookie borrowed the girls' sorority pins and placed them on the wrap of her bouquet. Becky also placed a tiny flower from her own wedding dress on the bouquet wrap. I gave Brookie a gold bracelet with a pearl she wore in the wedding.
Phil and Brookie exchanged gifts during their first look. Phil gave Brookie a gorgeous double heart ring and Phil received a beautiful wrist watch from Brookie. The morning was literally perfect and every brides and bridesmaid's dream come true!
We were joined that morning by Jenna, who did makeup for all the girls, and Kelly and Summer, who did everyone's hair. Jenna, Kelly, and Summer were so organized and they made the morning go seamlessly with a plan for each of the girls!
Once again, Becky thought of everything from the delicious brunch to toothbrushes for the girls and Disney towels and soap in the bathroom. She also had gotten Brooke and Ben Mr. and Mrs Shehan Mickey and Minnie hats from Disney World! Walt Disney himself would have been proud of all the Disney details! I have never seen a more organized and efficient Mother of the Bride, seriously! It was all "so Brookie"!!
It was so much fun to be involved in all the activities. Joining in with the girls was such a treat! Each and every one of Brookie's bridesmaids are the sweetest girls you will ever meet! They literally snapped and tweeted all morning! Brooke even created her own Snapchat geofilter for her wedding day! Enjoy some of my favorites from all the fun with the girls!
